The Role
We are looking for a conscientious and driven Assistant Design Manager to join our thriving Egypt Building & Projects Consultancy team. The role will be based in Arkan/Mivida Office with extensive travel throughout the country/and in some occasions the region - flexibility and a willing attitude is vital.
Successful candidate will have a proven track record in completing detailed design packages & working drawings in various sectors (commercial, administrative & fitouts) with extensive knowledge in working drawings systems and AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Involvement in the design process of the projects from concept, schematic, detailed phases to completion
- Responsible for creating concept design presentations and mood boards
- Responsible for preparing architectural & interior detailed drawings for various projects, in all stages, following Savills standards and templates.
- Responsible for preparing enlarged details packages
- Responsible for assisting in preparing & updating projects FF&E Schedules
- Assist in furniture selections and suppliers’ visits
- Responsible for reviewing structure & MEP drawings and technical coordination between all disciplines.
- Responsible for creating any required construction details.
- Responsible for regularly updating the “Vendors List” of manufacturers and suppliers.
- Attend meetings with consultants, contractors, suppliers & client representatives as needed.
- Reviewing and replying to contractors’ shop drawings & RFIs.
- Assisting in issuing design review reports.
- Assist in site progress reports and construction drawings reporting.
- License & authorities communication and facilitation (when required).
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, with 3–5 years of experience in tender drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of Revit is an asset, and 3ds Max is preferred.
- Proven experience in preparing technical drawings and detailing.
- Solid knowledge of design standards, local building codes, and government regulations.
- Confident and proficient in public speaking.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and team members.
