The Role
Savills are looking to hire a Paralegal to join as part of the regional support team for the Middle East. The position will be working directly with the Legal & Compliance Manager as well as the business to assist primarily with contract reviews, contract management and related legal- and administrative tasks. The role requires a strong corporate legal background, excellent drafting and reviewing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple legal and administrative tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Documentation & Support
· Draft and prepare legal documents, including contracts, NDA’s, addendums, legal notices and letters.
· Review and redline legal agreements, including service level agreements, agency/broker agreements, referral agreements, property management agreements, consultancy agreements, MOUs, bids and other ad hoc agreements.
· Ensure that agreement terms comply with group policies and standards.
· Supporting the Legal & Compliance Manager in collating comments received from external counterparties, assisting in carrying out amendments into documents, and proof reading for quality assurance purposes.
2. Contracts Management
· Maintain and update all legal documentation, ensuring proper recordkeeping and organized storage.
· Maintain contracts directory, track renewal dates, expiries, and ensure compliance with terms.
· Support with execution of contracts in accordance with approval processes.
3. Administrative & Legal Tasks
· Providing legal support at signings/execution and carrying out post-completion tasks.
· Assist in continuous development of standard templates and formats for legal documents.
· Conducting legal research on UAE and GCC laws relevant to our business model.
4. Case Handling and Coordination
· Support in managing occasional legal disputes, litigation, complaints and claims by gathering relevant documents, preparing case files and summaries, coordinating with legal counsel and providing stakeholders with status updates.
5. General
· Attending meetings and preparing minutes of meetings/actions and following up on all relevant points of discussion.
· Responding to queries raised by the business regarding legal agreements and relevant processes and requirements.
In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in law or relevant certification.
· At least 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal either in a law firm or legal department.
· Solid understanding of UAE commercial, civil, corporate and regulatory law, and experience in conducting legal research.
· Experience within the real estate sector is advantageous.
· Excellent drafting skills and strong legal writing abilities.
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
· Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
· Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
