General Accountant
The Role
The General Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role will include overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing accounts payable/receivable, handling general ledger entries, and preparing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and process vendor invoices and payments. Track and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow to ensure proper accounting records.
Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end closing process, including preparing financial statements and related reports.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external auditors.
Expense Management: Review and verify company expenses to ensure compliance with budget and company policy.
Tax Preparation: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and filings, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.
Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring the provision of necessary documentation.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in facility management or a similar industry.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., D365,Sun) and MS Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance standards.
